Junior Team ReportsUNDER 9s KEEP IMPROVING

GREAT MELTON U9s lost to BRADFIELD U9s by 15 runs at Melton Park in the John Dewing Trophy

Fielding first, Gt Melton under 9s restricted Bradfield to 264 -2 (254). After the visiting openers made 26 without loss, Charlie Green and Josh Wright bowled accurately with only 6 runs for 1 wicket coming from their 4 overs. Captained by Lohit Kannan, Gt Melton's team work in the field was very evident with runs saved by intelligent backing up. Top scores by Josh Wright (14) and Sam Johnson (12) enabled Gt Melton to achieve their highest score of the season and equal the visitors' total. Unfortunately the loss of 5 wickets gave victory to Bradfield. On a wonderful sunny evening at Melton Park this was an excellent performance with yet another young player,Callum Sparkes, making his first appearance in a competitive fixture.
