Under 9s Cruise to their Second Win

GREAT MELTON U9s beat SWAFFHAM U9s by 21 runs at Melton Park in the John Dewing Competition

An overcast Melton Park saw the home team bat first against Swaffham.  Charlie Green, with a top score of 15 not out, opened with Ben Johnson (6). The runs continued with Cassie Mawby (6), Oliver Black (6), Lohit Kannan (10), Cameron Graveling (8) and Ethan Rushton (6) each scoring boundaries and taking Great Melton to 285 for 5 (260 net).

Nat Buxton was again excellent behind the stumps as Melton frustrated the visitors with accurate bowling and sharp fielding. Charlie Green took two wickets while Ben Johnson, Cassie Mawby and Oliver Black had very few runs off their overs, Swaffham finishing on 264 for 5 (239 net). This was another excellent team performance under the captaincy of Lohit.
