U15s Win at Rocklands

Great Melton U15s maintained their 100% winning record in the South Norfolk Community League with a 6-wicket victory at Rocklands. The home side elected to bat having won the toss but had no answer to Melton’s bowling attack. Only 7 runs were conceded by Rob Macintosh and Joseph Graves in their 4-over opening spell before two wickets in an over by Ben Johnson (2-6) then 2 more by Taha Raja. Three edged fours and a few extras got Rocklands up to 41 before Charlie Green 1-1) and ‘golden arm’ Ethan Rushton (2-1) ended the innings in the 10th over.

Nat Buxton then made short work of the run chase, hitting 37 in 4.5 overs. Macintosh was bowled for 3 with just 2 runs needed for victory and, after Green had run a single, Buxton fittingly hit the winning boundary.
