
U11s South Norfolk League Campaign Off to Winning Start
GREAT MELTON U11s beat MATTISHALL U11s by 4 runs at Mattishall in the South Norfolk Community League
Great Melton U11s got their South Norfolk campaign off to a winning start and kept their unbeaten run going but only just as Mattishall provided a stiff test. The home side, having won the toss and put Great Melton into bat, bowled well with 2 wickets apiece for Silas Town and Bryce Stoltz. One wicket for Matt Braybrook and a run out accounted for the 6 wickets taken. Melton's openers, Sam Davey (18) and Ben Gaskin (23) got the innings off to a good start, however runs further down the order were less forthcoming with only Peter Thomas (4) scoring more than 1 run as Melton totalled 71-6.
In the Mattishall innings Braybrook got the batting off to a good start, retiring after he reached his total of 30 but tight bowling, especially by Sam Mckay who conceded just 4 runs in his 3 overs, restricted the visitors to 67-
