Tim Hales

Ground Sub-Committee Member; Right-hand batsman; Right-arm (occasional) bowler; Wicketkeeper.

Tim was born in Bunwell and was a leading light in his village club for many years but, when the Bunwell Saturday side folded, he joined Great Melton at the beginning of the 2012 season, soon making his mark in the B and C Teams as a useful wicketkeeper and middle-order batsman.  Since then Tim has gone from strength to strength and, having taken over the captaincy of both the B Team and Sunday Team at the beginning of 2015, his game flourished and he went on to enjoy a ‘golden year’, establishing the ‘Sunday Funday’ philosophy, whilst leading them to promotion, and carrying off a hat-trick of awards at the Presentation Dinner including B Team Player of the Year, and Most Improved Player.  Tim now bats and occasionally keeps wicket for the 1st or A Teams.  Having studied horticulture at Easton & Ottley College, Tim started his groundsman's career at Wymondham High School and, having served a few years at C.N.S. he launched his own company TH Groundcare.  Business has boomed abut Tim still finds time to provide support to our groundsmen, Mike and Grenville, and to fit in some Saturday and Midweek cricket.
