Taylor Blast Results in First Junior Defeat

GREAT MELTON U15s lost to GARBOLDISHAM U15s by 8 wickets at Melton Park in the South Norfolk Community League

Garboldisham's Dan Taylor blasted an unbeaten 59 in just 8 overs as the visitors gained quick revenge for defeat in the Andy Seeley Cup earlier in the season with a convincing victory in the South Norfolk Community League.  On this occasion Taylor eclipsed his Norfolk U15s colleague Chris Greenslade by first catching him in the deep after he had raced to 39 in just 5 overs then, with Baker (22 not out), blitzing the Melton bowling to score the 101 needed for victory in very quick time.  With Greenslade, Woolrich (1) and Farmer (9) all dismissed fairly early Melton had done well to reach three figures with Alex Tonnison (16) and Connor Stearman (14) adding 31 for the 5th wicket.  Melton's total of 100-6 looked defendable if the bowlers maintained a good line and length and were able to dismiss Taylor early but it was a disappointing display as Melton served up a buffet of full tosses and long hops and Taylor and Baker were able to score at a rate of 13 runs an over to inflict on Melton a first junior defeat of the season.!
