Sam Davey

Right-hand batsman; Right-arm bowler; Wicketkeeper

A chirpy, confident character, Sam has all the attributes to be an excellent wicketkeeper and has already made a very good impression in his senior appearances, mainly for the B Team.  Having come through from the U9s, Sam was an integral part of the Terry Moore and SNCL winning U11s team in 2017 where he was mainly used as a batsman and bowler rather than a ‘keeper.   However, as an U13 Sam shared the wicket-keeping – and sometimes the captaincy –  duties with Corey Rushton and continued to improve as a batsman.   He’s rarely missed a coaching session over the last 6 years and is a real student of the game, often seen in the nets practising with his dad or his sister Rebecca (the County U13 Girls’ wicketkeeper).   He was U11 Most Improved Player in 2017 and U13 Coaches Player of the Year in 2018. In last season's President's game he demonstrated his all-round abilities, playing some superb shots in a confident 31, showing some mature wicketkeeping and bowling figures of 3-10. Certainly one for the future.
