Rob Hits 61 as U13s Stay Unbeaten

GREAT MELTON U13s beat CRINGLEFORD U13s by 19 runs at Cringleford in the South Norfolk Community League

Rob Smith scored 61 as Melton U13s kept their unbeaten record with victory over Cringleford in the South Norfolk Community League. Having decicied to bat first after winning the toss Rob Smith and Alex Rennie got Melton off to a steady start, finding the boundry numerous times before Alex was stumped for 14. Rob's positive batting saw him hit 11 fours in his innings of 61 before being run out. Marcus Mawby followed shortly, bowled for 6, but with Matt Rennie(8 not out) and Craig Attewell (1 not out ) seeing out the 16 overs Melton had a total of 103 for 3.

Ryan Howard (3-0-8-2) opening the Melton bowling and bowled R.Duffy with the very first ball of Cringleford's innings Melton where not at their best in the field, missing four good run out chances, and their slack fielding allowed Cringleford to stay in with a chance but Melton's tenacity managed to grind out a win which was a good effort when things are not going well.
