Phil Bugg

Right-hand batsman; Right-arm slow bowler

Phil is better known in local sporting circles as a talented footballer who played for Norwich City and appeared at Wembley with Diss Town when they won the F.A.Vase in 1994.  He introduced his son Henry (10) to Junior Coaching at Great Melton in 2016 and played a few times for the Sunday A Team in friendly matches before deciding to play more regularly in 2017 and 2018 when he represented the B and, occasionally, the A Teams.  A decent top-order batsman with a highest score of 88, Phil also took on the Vice Chairman’s role for two seasons before the heavy demands of his Assistant Headteacher’s role in Kings Lynn coincided with his two children finding alternative activities to cricket.  This meant that he stood down as Vice Chairman in 2019 and now plays when he can, albeit occasionally.
