Oak Tree’s Broken Branch Causes Headache for Club!

Following the abandonement of yesterday's Norfolk V Sussex U11 match, the major oak tree at Melton Park took a hit in the storm with a very large branch being torn away.  It is currently resting, rather precariously,  on one of the other branches but poses a health and safety risk.  The area around the tree had been cordoned off and a tree surgeon has visited and is hoping to perform the requisite surgery by the end of the week.  Unfortunately it has meant that tonight's U13s match against Saxlingham has had to be called off and there is some doubt about other ‘home' matches scheduled for this week.  Coaching/Practice should be able to go ahead as long as activities are away from  the tree – although the forecast for tomorrow is awful!

If there is any casual use of the ground, please stay well away from the cordoned-off area.

Unfortunately tonight's U11s game is also off!  Great Ellingham's pitch is waterlogged.
