North Runcton Offer Little Resistance

GREAT MELTON (24 points) beat NORTH RUNCTON A (1 point) by 7 wickets at North Runcton in the Norfolk Cricket Alliance Division 3

This was anything but a memorable encounter. Arguably the most noteworthy event of the day was the holocaustal thunder storm which threatened to delay the start. Almost as tempestuous was the spell bowled by off spinner Tom Moyse who seemed extremely pumped up whilst collecting 4 for 19 from his 7.2 overs, and in the process bowling the North Runcton out for 67. Nick McKenzie also took an impressive 3-11 off 7 overs.

This left Melton with the fairly straightforward task of knocking off the very limited total, and whilst the home side showed far more resilience with the ball, it was never a contest. Lee Whiddett top scored with 24. It was a shame to be leaving the ground before 6pm, given that the wicket and outfield had been so impeccably prepared.
