Right-hand batsman; Right-arm seam bowler.

Luke first joined Great Melton as a very slightly-built 10-year-old in 2010, immediately catching the eye of the club coaches with the smoothness of his bowling action and the pace of his deliveries as well as his enthusiasm and willingness to work hard.  With his dad, John, he was at the ground practising for hours on end and, having taken a lot of wickets at U11 level, he got into the County squad and stayed there throughout his junior career.  Luke made his senior debut for the C Team as a 12-year-old but, in 2014, he decided to seek higher-level cricket at Vauxhall-Mallards.  He continued to progress, initially playing for Mallards A Team, then for the Firsts in the EAPL before returning to Melton at the beginning of the 2018 season.  Having developed into a very useful middle-order batsman as well as a pacy opening bowler and an excellent fielder, Luke’s 24 wickets and 196 runs made him the 1st Team’s Player-of-the-Year in his first season back at the club.  Currently at university in Leeds, Luke is one of the best cricketers to come through the junior system.
