Lohit Kannan

Junior Representative; Junior Sub-Committee Member; Right-hand batsman; Right-arm off-spin bowler

Lohit has been at Great Melton since 2011 and has represented every team from U9 to First Team.  He just loves his cricket and is a real student of the game as well as being a most accomplished opening batsman, probing off-spin bowler and a reliable and astute captain.  He has two county cup winners medals to his name, having been in the U11 team that won the Terry Moore Trophy in 2014 and the U15 team that won the Andy Seeley Tournament in 2016.  Junior awards have included U9s Player-of-the-Year in 2013, U13s Player-of-the-Year in 2017, U15s Most Improved Player in 2018 and U15s Player-of-the-Year in 2019 when he scored 312 runs and was only dismissed twice.  In fact, had it not been for the junior “retirement” rules Lohit would undoubtedly have improved on his highest score of 54.  A member of Norfolk age group squads from U10 to U15, Lohit made rapid progress through the Melton senior teams and, still only 17, he has been a First Team opening batsman for the past 3 seasons.  Confident and composed at the crease, he rarely gives his wicket away and is adding power to his already impressive range of shots.  A hard worker at everything he does, Lohit assists with junior coaching and sits on the Junior Committee as Junior Representative.
