Liam Stevens

Right-hand batsman; Right-arm off-spin bowler

Liam is one of our junior cricketers who very much illustrates the value of patience and persistence.  He joined the club as an U9, hardly missed a coaching session and appeared regularly at the Junior Festival but had featured only occasionally in the junior teams.  Finally, having played occasionally for the U13s in 2018, Liam was asked to help out the C Team early in 2019 and hasn’t looked back.  His slightly unorthodox off-spin proved an effective weapon and he ended the season as a ‘regular’ with 9 wickets to his name. Despite the limited opportunities in Covid-hit 2020 Liam’s bowling continued to improve and he celebrated his first ‘fifer’ in a Sunday friendly at Great Ellingham, taking 5-22. Liam is very keen on his cricket and his improvement and regular involvement has had the unexpected bonus of bringing about a return to action for his dad, Paul.

Stats (Up to & including 2020):
