Kyle Weston

Right-hand batsman, Right-arm bowler

Kyle joined Melton in 2012 after the Chairman spotted his talent while coaching at Wicklewood Primary School where he was a pupil. He was part of the successful junior U11-U15 squad that won the the South Norfolk Community League in 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014 and reached the final of both the ECB and the Terry Moore Competitions where Kyle stood-in as wicketkeeper. He made his senior debut for the C Team team in 2016 and has played regularly ever since when his Wymondham College school commitments have allowed.  Now standing well over 6 feet tall, any ideas of being a wicketkeeper are behind him and he’s developed into a very useful 1st or 2nd team seam bowler and hard-hitting middle-order batsman.  Kyle has consistency done his bit off the pitch as well.  He served as Junior Representative and has assisted with Friday evening coaching, where he has been particularly good with the U9s group.  He has been ever-willing to assist with work on the ground or with the upkeep of the pavilion.  His efforts have been rewarded by the award of ‘Young Volunteer of the Year’ in both 2018 and 2019. Kyle has registered for the ECB Level 1 Foundation Coaching Course scheduled for Spring 2021.
