Joey Greenslade

Sunday 1st Team Captain; Right-hand batsman; Left-arm bowler: Wicketkeeper

Joey, a talented batsman, has been living and studying in London, but still making the occasional appearance and becoming something of a ‘tour’ regular.  However he and brother Chris have now returned to live in Norfolk which is a real boost for the club. An established 1st Team cricketer, Joey’s ‘chirpy chappie’ personality, his experiences in the County junior squads and his preparedness to take responsibility at Melton have given him plenty of self-confidence so it is no surprise that he has already taken on the joint captaincy of the Sunday side, with Connor Stearman.. He has previously captained at all age groups from U11s to U19s’ leading them to 4 County Finals and 4 SNCL Championships  In 2013 he made his debut for the C Team but made rapid progress after that, winning the First Team Player-of-the-Year Shield in 2015.  Having kept wicket during his junior years, he’s now quite a decent and pacy ‘occasional’ bowler.   Joey has also done his bit off the pitch, helping out at junior coaching, assisting in the Girls/Ladies section where his sisters, Rebecca and Alice are often in action, and taking on the organisation of the U19s in 2017-2018. He and Chris have now also initiated the Great Melton Fantasy Cricket League.
