First Defeat of Season for the Bs

Great Melton B (4 points) lost to Costessey (25 points) at Town Close in the Lucas & Fettes Norfolk League Division 2

Great Melton B team suffered their first defeat of the season to a strong Costessey side.  On winning the toss Costessey were invited to bat on a dampish wicket and after 20 overs had reached 41-2.  However the Costessey middle  order rallied and, with wickets in hand and aided by some loose bowling, were able to post a competitive total of 162 after 45 overs. Both Jake Mardell (0-17) and Ryan Hayward (2-15) bowled well for Melton.  After tea Melton set about chasing down the visitors score but faced by a strong seam attack, several outstanding catches and a slowish wicket, slumped to 110 all out. Toby Wyatt (24) top scored for Melton with useful contributions from Jon Moxon (15), George Ducker (14) and Ryan Hayward (14).
