Eusha Hits 97 Not Out For Table-Topping Bs

GREAT MELTON B (25 points) beat HALES & LODDON A (5 points) by 8 wickets at Hales Green in the Lucas & Fettes Norfolk League Division 2

Eusha Fawad came within 3 runs of scoring his maiden century as Great Melton B ran out convincing winners against a Hales & Loddon A on a cold and overcast afternoon.  Fawad's superb 97 not out enabled Melton to overhaul the home side's 164 all out and stay at the top of Division 2.  Electing to bat first Hales & Loddon made a fine start and had reached 58 when the first wicket fell to the impressive line and length bowling of Daniel Hayward (1-11). The home team continued to make steady progress and reached 101 before they lost their second wicket to yet more accurate seam bowling from George Ducker (2-10). Thereafter wickets fell at regular intervals with Neal Clarke (3-14) cleaning up the lower order in quick time.  After tea Melton set about chasing and made a steady start despite losing Clarke for 4. Chris McKay (18) fell to a good delivery with the score on 40 but that wicket was the last Melton lost and an excellent partnership between Fawad and Chris Elliott (24no) saw the visitors to their target.  It was a fantastic innings from Eusha supported and guided by expertly by Chris Elliott and perfect example of the teams youth and experience ethos.
