Dale Weston

Right-hand batsman; Right-arm seam bowler

After many years with Hingham, Dale played his first game for Melton in 2016.  He’s actually been involved with the club since 2012 when son Kyle became a junior player and he and wife Sallyann often helped out with scoring for the U11s, U13s and U15s but with Kyle having graduated to senior cricket, Dale ended his injury-forced retirement to play with him in the Bs or Cs. He’s an extremely effective bowler as many who have played against Hingham will testify. Unerringly accurate and, with the ability to swing the ball, he is surprisingly pacy off such a short run and is both economical and a wicket-taker. As a lower order batsman he is also a good striker of a cricket ball. During his time at Melton Dale has played mainly in the B Team but, more recently, in the As.  However, injury problems have never been far away, resulting in some longish absences from action.  Off the field, though, the Westons have been a real asset to the club, spending much time at Melton Park, helping with the ground or with the upkeep of the pavilion.
