Corey Rushton: 1st Senior Fifty

Corey Rushton

U15s Captain; Left-hand batman; Right-arm off-spin bowler; Wicketkeeper

A confident and talented all-round cricketer, Corey was a member of Junior County squads from 2015 to 2018.  A wicket-keeper batsman and occasional off-spin bowler, Corey has also proved to be a tactically-astute captain where his skills were fully displayed in leading the U11s to their Terry Moore Trophy win over Brooke in 2017 as well as two South Norfolk Community League championships in 2017 and 2018 and a SNCL indoor Zip League win early in 2019.  Corey made the transition to senior cricket in 2018, playing – and keeping wicket – mainly in the B Team for the past two seasons before deciding to have a break from ‘keeping to concentrate on his batting and his bowling which has shown itself to be very effective.  U9s Player-of-the-Year back in 2015, Corey added the U13s Coaches Award in 2017.  As a left-hander with a solid defence, a full range of shots and a willingness to improvise when necessary, Corey will be an even more effective batsman once he acquires the power to accompany his technique.
