Chris Greenslade

Sunday Team Manager; Right hand batsman; Right arm fast bowler.

Chris, undoubtedly one of the club’s most talented youngster, having burst through the junior ranks to carry off a host of top senior trophies at the 2013 Presentation Dinner, including First Team Player of the Year and the Aldous Award for the best performance, found the difficulties of trying to fit cricket around his work shifts and he rather fell out of love with the game during 2014-15 but, in a rare appearance, a partnership of 193 with Martyn Cook V Mattishall in 2014 again won him (jointly) the Aldous Special Award.  Chris has been at Melton since he caught the eye of the Chairman playing for for the Robert Kett School in a Kwik-Cricket Festival at Melton Park.  As an attacking batsman and wicketkeeper Chris went on to represent Norfolk at several junior age groups.  He was U11 Player of the Year in 2007, won the U13s Player of the Year shield in 2009 and the U13s Coaches Award in 2010 before being voted Junior (U17) Player of the Year for 3 years in succession between 2010-2012.  Having attended Middlesex Uni and lived and worked in London for the past few years, he returned home to play occasionally and joined us on tour in Sheffield in 2019. His and Joey's move back to Norfolk is a real boost for the club with the brothers already taking on the organisation of the Sunday side and a new GMCC Fantasy Cricket League. With his love of cricket fully restored, his presence is certain to be felt on the pitch too!
