Aimee Wins it For U15s

GREAT MELTON U15s beat MULBARTON U15s by 5 wickets at Melton Park in the South Norfolk Community League

A superb unbeaten 64 by Aimee Palmer was the highlight of Great Melton U15s victory over Mulbarton.  Showing a return to form and confidence, Aimee played an array of well-timed cuts, pulls and drives, scoring over half Melton's runs as they chased down Mulbarton's challenging 119-2.  With Fergus Hughes bowled for 7 – including a six – Melton needed to bat sensibly for a time and Aimee and Tom Moye did just that.  Even though Tom only scored 8 the partnership brought 67 runs and, by the time Tom was bowled in the 11th over, Aimee was in full flow.  With Luke Richards (5 not out) offering good support Aimee timed the run chase to perfection as Melton won with 9 balls to spare.  Her innings, which included 12 fours, wasn't quite a personal best as she scored 68 for the girls in 2014 but it was easily her best innings of the summer.

Earlier C.Woodcock (43 not out), N.Sharpe (23) and David Matthews (36 not out) had also batted well for the visitors to put them in a strong position until ‘girl power' took over!
