Aimee & Rebecca help U11s to Top-of-the-Table Victory

Great Melton U11s beat Hethersett & Tas Valley U11s by 44 runs at Melton Park in the South Norfolk Community League

Great Melton included two girls in the Under 11s for the first time and both played significant roles in the 44-run defeat of top-of-the-table Hethersett & Tas Valley.  Aimee Palmer top-scored with 13 and took 1-3 while Rebecca Russell, making her debut, scored 3 and took 1-2.  Melton scored a total of 67-6, Fergus Highes (10) and Logan Stearman (11 not out) also making significant contributions.  E.Blofield bowled well for the visitors taking 3-6 and T.Worley (3-1-7-1) was equally impressive.  Melton also bowled and fielded impressively.  As well as Aimee and Rebecca there was a good opening spell from Craig Wilson and a wicket and a brilliant catch for Lewis Thurston (1-6) before skipper Hughes ended the game in the 9th over by taking 3 wickets as Tas Valley were bowled out for just 23.
