A good all-round performance by Will Moulton was the highlight of Great Melton U9s’ 59-run victory over Bungay in the Alliance John Dewing Competition. Will took 3 of the 7 Bungay wickets to fall – all clean bowled – as the visitors made 240-7 then scored 15 runs as Melton reached 279-2.
Jack Joice, George Fawkes, George Dunscombe and Henry Burke also took a wicket apiece as the Bungay batsmen struggled against some accurate bowling. In reply, Melton’s first pair, George Dunscombe and Henry already had 14 runs on the board before Will and George Fawkes made it 239-1 with a partnership of 25. Jack then top-scored with 19 as he and Eddie Wedge added a further 25 to the total before Robbie Woods and Rupert Beasley took the final total up to 279-2, a net score of 271.
