Great Melton U13s beat Old Buckenham U13s by 62 runs at Melton Park in the Alan Bridgewater Trophy

Great Melton u13s started their season with a win against Old Buckenham. Having been put into bat opening pair of Rob Smith (21 no) and Craig Attewell (7 no) got the innings off to a good start, Rob looking in good form with the bat hitting four 4s with some great shots. Luke Marchant and Matt Rennie continued to build on the good start with both finding the boundary. Old Buckenham took their first wicket with Marchant being bowled. Old Bucks spirit was lifted by the wicket and they took two more and slowed down the scoring of the 3rd pair Alex
Rennie and Marcus Mawby. 4th pair Alex Tonnison and Joe Greenslade scored 19 runs with some quick running and good shots . Old Bucks took their 4th wicket with Joe being caught of the last ball of the innings with Melton finishing on 298 for 4, a net total of 266. In reply Melton took 10 wickets as Old Bucks totalled 284-10, a net total of 204. There were wickets for Matt Rennie (1) Marcus Mawby(1) Craig Attewell (2 in two balls), Luke Marchant (3) and Joe Greenslade (3) who took 3 wickets in 4 balls in a maiden over.
