Three out of Three For Under 11s in the Terry Moore Trophy
Great Melton U11s beat Garboldisham U11s by 26 runs at Melton Park in the Terry Moore Trophy
An error on the fixture card that wasn't spotted by either team manager meant that this match was played underย South Norfolk Community Leagueย rules onlyย to discover, later,ย that it was a Terry Moore Trophy game.ย It necessitated a quick readjustment of the scores resulting in a 26-run win for Melton rather than a 6-wicket one.ย Meltonย produced an impressive fielding display to restrict Garboldisham to 257-6 (227 net).ย Arvind Shanmugam took 2-11, Ryan Howard 1-2 in 3 excellent overs, Craig Wilson 1-4 and Logan Stearman 1-4.ย Fergus Hughes, opening Melton's reply then batted very sensibly hitting 3 boundaries in his 19 before retiring.ย Skipper Howard (5 not out) saw Melton home, the final adjustedย score beingย 258-1 (253 net).ย Without County players Luke Marchant and Tom Moye this was another impressive display from the inexperienced U11 squad who have won three out of three and are improving all the time.
