Great Melton U13s went ballistic against Rocklands in the Allan Bridgewater trophy compiling a record 16-over score of 219-1. Flynn Crosthwaite, yet to be dismissed in 3 innings for Melton in which he has scored over 130 runs, again retired with 33 as did opening partner Corey Rushton with 30 with Melton got off to a blistering start.
Harrison Cunningham (30 retired), George Woodcock (30 retired) and James Cooper (33 retired) continued the carnage as the unfortunate Rocklands bowlers suffered in the evening sunshine. Odin Thomas was the only batsmen to miss out being run out for 0!
Menuka Jayakody then ensured Melton would not have things all their own way with a pugnacious 35 but none of the other visiting batsmen reached double figures as James Cooper took 4-8 in just 1.4 overs. Cunningham (2-1-4-1), Crosthwaite (2-1-1-1) and Thomas (2-0-9-1) were the other wicket-takers as Rocklands were bowled out for 62 giving Melton a crushing 157-run victory.
