Full of confidence following last week’s win, a new look U11 side skippered for the first time by in form Ben Gaskin, travelled to Mundford for a rearranged SNCL fixture.
Having won the toss and elected to bat, Gaskin and Sam Davey went about things in positive fashion. Having picked up the ones and twos with the odd boundary, Gaskin finished with a flourish hitting a six to take his score to 31 and compulsory retirement. Will Bailey and Davey kept up the scoring before Davey eventually fell to a well taken caught and bowled for T.Rickard for 23.
A freaky run out cut short Daniel Graves’ (4) time at the crease, which left Peter Thomas (7*) and Bailey to (25*) to post an impressive 122 for 2 off their 16 overs.
The boys kept up the pressure with the ball and struck early in the Mudford innings removing both openers in the first two overs with Gaskin (1-4) and Adithya Velu (1-2) controlling the swing and bowling some good tight lines. The good work was continued by Sam McKay (0-4), Jack Ballam (0-9) and Peter Thomas (0-6) to restrict the home side. It then fell to Graves (2-4) and Bailey (2-2) to complete the win by 91 runs.
Another great performance from a very a strong squad!
