Finance Sub-Committee Member; Right-hand batsman; Right-arm bowler
A former Wymondham High School student, Nav first played for Melton Under 13s in 2005 and graduated to the Under 15s, Under 17s and the senior teams. Normally an aggressive batsman, he came to prominence for the Bs, showing remarkable composure whilst scoring 41 in the dark to win the game against Cringleford at the UEA. He played just a few games between 2011-2013 while completing a degree in Accounting & Finance at De Montfort University, but returned to Norwich in 2014 and played 19 games for A, B, C and Midweek Teams. Although Nav sometimes struggles with consistency he bowls with fair bit of pace and has developed into a good all-round cricketer. A cousin of Viv, Navin has played 103 games for Melton, has a highest score of 55 and averages 16.68 with the bat. He’s also taken 76 wickets at an average of 23.86. Currently Navin works in tax accounting at Grant Thornton and sits on our Finance Sub-Committee. He didn’t play at all in 2015 and only twice in 2016 but we’re hoping we’ll see him in action again this season.
