There was a fantastic attendance of 90 for the first Junior Cricket Coaching session of the season on Friday (19th April) which was a record for a first session.  It was great to see so many youngsters (and parents) as well as 9 qualified coaches and a large group of assistants.  Thanks to the coaches, helpers, bar staff and to Membership Secretary, Steve Clarke, and his ‘glamorous assistants’ Jill Hustler and Celia Phoenix for processing the numerous registrations.

The sessions will continue every Friday from 6.30-8.00 p.m. at Melton Park.

Coaching/Practice for U15s, U17s and seniors will starts this Tuesday (23rd April), 6.30-8.00 with Level 3 coach, Micky Piggott providing specialist sessions for senior players and emerging talent.  This is a new initiative so a good attendance is hoped for.

Fees are £30 (including £5 subscription) for those Under 15 on 01 September 2012 & £17.50 for older juniors.  There are reductions for families with more than one junior member.  Please arrive early for the first session in order to register.  This year, to comply with new Clubmark procedures, the junior (U18) member AND a parent has to sign the junior registration form.

It is anticipated that the club will have extreme difficult raising 4 sides for the League matches in May with players working, at university, attending weddings, still playing/watching football or having decided to retire!  If there are any players who can help us out during this difficult period or, if you haven’t played for a while and fancy a game, please get in touch.
