Left hand batsman; Right-arm seam bowler
James was a member of the successful U11s squad that won the Terry Moore Trophy and the South Norfolk Community League in 2014, contributing 13 wickets. Two years in the U13s have seen James mature as a cricketer and he has already successfully made the transition into senior cricket. Last season he played for the U13s, U15s, U19s, the C Team and the Sunday A Team for whom he scored his maiden half century. Another good ‘knock’ in partnership with the Chairman for the C Team against Hardingham at Mulbarton also showed James’ potential and ability to concentrate. Now a year 9 student at Wymondham College benefitting from the coaching of Peter Hunt, James’ bowls with genuine pace and, as a batsman, has ability to hit the ball hard but he can be a captains or coaches’ nightmare. He hates being out of the action for long and rarely stays where his captain tells him to go! Despite being a law unto himself, he’s a good lad and, when fully focused, is a very talented cricketer. Although his College commitments restrict his weekend availability, James has already played 64 games for the club, scored 725 runs at an average of 16 and taken 42 wickets with a best of 4-15.
