GREAT MELTON U15s beat CRINGLEFORD LODGE U15s by 51 runs at Melton Park in the South Norfolk Community League
A first hat-trick by Ethan Rushton and an unbeaten 42 by James Bridges were the highlights of Great Melton U15s victory over Cringleford. Bridges retired not out after hitting 7 fours and, with Charlie Green scoring 12, Ethan Rushton 20 not out and Sam Johnson 22, Melton totalled a challenging 137-2 off their 16 overs. Adithya Singh was Cringleford’s best bowler with 1-17 from his 3 overs with Tom Barnston taking 1-12.
Aziz Kirke (6) was bowled by a good delivery from Bridges before a catch by Jack Gorman then removed Cringleford skipper, Sam Palmer (17) off Charlie Green. A running catch by Bridges then gave Gorman the wicket of Verney (10) before left-armer Rushton removed Shepherd, Taylor and Barnston in successive balls, all for nought, to record his first ever hat-trick. Will Jennings with a belligerent unbeaten 24 and Singh (5 not out) batted well for the last wicket but Cringleford finished on 86-6, 51 runs short of Melton.
Rushton finished with 2-0-7-3 with Green (1-10), Bridges (1-9) and Gorman (1-14) the other wicket-takers.
