2012_McCurley GuyU9s Team Manager; ECB Level 2 Coach; Junior & Coaching Sub-Committee Member.

Guy is a very keen cyclist and can often be seen in the summer pedalling between his home in Bunwell to Melton Park to coach the ‘Fundamentals’ (U9s) group or supervise practise sessions or matches for them.  As U9s coach and manager, Guy does a superb job of developing a love of cricket among our youngest juniors, and he has infinite patience.  Guy came late to cricket, qualifying as a Level 2 coach in 2009 after seeing the enjoyment his son Jack got out of being part of Great Melton Cricket Club.  In his first season as coach Guy assisted with the U13s but, having taken on the younger age group, he has overseen the development of U9s cricket from the odd Kwik Cricket match or club practice games to participation in the Alliance John Dewing competition for the first time in 2011 & 2012 and then in the South Norfolk Community League which the U9s won in 2015. Guy worked for many years in the Fire Service but, having retired, is now bookings manager at Wymondham College.
