Level 2 Coach, Ladies’ Manager/Coach; Left-hand batsman; Leg-spin bowler

George has been with Great Melton since 2003, apart from one junior season at Swardeston, and really made rapid progress through the junior ranks taking 15 wickets to help the B Team to the Norfolk League Division 6 title in 2008 when he was still an Under 15.  Selected for junior county squads as a leg-spin bowler, George has developed into a fine attacking batsman in recent years despite his availability being limited by his work commitments.  His 203 not out in a Sunday match at Acle in 2018 is the club record for the highest individual score.  George captained junior sides in most age groups as well as the Sunday Team, achieved his Level 2 coaching award in 2013 and, in 2015, he became the second young volunteer to clock up 100 hours under the ECB VCricket Awards scheme.  He took on the role of Coaching Coordinator, jointly with Ryan Hayward for 2 years and has been Ladies’ Coach since 2018.  Disappointingly George has chosen to play his cricket elsewhere in 2020 but he will continue to coach the Ladies.
