2016_Greenslade DuncanU19s & C Team Manager; Senior Cricket Committee & Junior Sub-Committee Member; Right-hand bat; Right-arm bowler.

Father of Chris, Joe, Rebecca and Alice, it costs Duncan and wife, Maria, a small fortune in ‘coaching fees’ and ‘match fees’ – but it’s a sacrifice all parents of talented youngsters seem happy to make.  Since Chris joined Melton in 2008, the Greenslade family have embroiled themselves in the club and Duncan has taken an ‘if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em’ attitude announcing, in 2010, that he was available for selection.  It  meant that he has been able to enjoy quite a few games for the C and B Teams, performing well as a bowler, in the field where he’s taken some excellent slip catches and, occasionally, with the bat. Duncan has also assisted at coaching, managed the Under 11s in 2010 and moved up with them as they became Under 13s, U15s, U17s and now U19s.  He has overseen them to 3 County finals, 4 South Norfolk Community League wins and 2 Zip League wins.  In 2017 he will again be assisting Joey with the U19s in the ECB U9 T20 Tournament as well as helping Clive Rennie to organise the C Team!  A carpet-fitter by trade, Duncan’s specialist skills have been called upon at Melton Park and, privately, be numerous club members. He and Maria have both served on the Junior Committee – Duncan’s still on it – and are always willing to help out wherever needed.  He’s a man who can be left to just ‘get on with the job’ and you know he will do it well.  In 2012 his efforts won him the Aldous Special Award for Clubman of the Year.  Duncan has now played 73 times for the club, has a top score of 37, has taken 23 wickets and his ‘bucket’ hands have snaffled 22 catches.
