Chris was undoubtedly one of the club’s most talented youngster but, having burst through the junior ranks to carry off a host of top senior trophies at the 2013 Presentation Dinner, including First Team Player of the Year and the Aldous Award for the best performance, the difficulties of trying to fit cricket around his work shifts meant he rather fell out of love with the game during 2014-15 but, in a rare appearance, a partnership of 193 with Martyn Cook V Mattishall in 2014 again won him (jointly) the Aldous Special Award.  Chris has been at Melton since he caught the eye of the Chairman playing for for the Robert Kett School in a Kwik-Cricket Festival at Melton Park.  As an attacking batsman and wicketkeeper Chris went on to represent Norfolk at several junior age groups.  He was U11 Player of the Year in 2007, won the U13s Player of the Year shield in 2009 and the U13s Coaches Award in 2010 before being voted Junior (U17) Player of the Year for 3 years in succession between 2010-2012.  He is now working and living in London but still returns home to play the occasional game and joined us on tour in Sheffield in 2019.
