GREAT MELTON B (23points) beat FELTHORPE (6 points) by 3 wickets at Town Close in the Lucas & Fettes Norfolk League Division 2
On a day not best suited to batting Great Melton B returned to winning ways in a tense match against Felthorpe. Invited to bat first Felthorpe found conditions very difficult against accurate seam bowling and, after 24 overs, had collapsed to 45 for 7. Good batting from A. Athurtton (42) and some spirited hitting from E. Doyle (20no) in the later stages of the innings saw a recovery of sorts to 121-9. After tea Melton also found conditions difficult for batting but steady work from Woody Loines (29) and Chris McKay (21) achieved more than half the total runs needed. Despite losing another 4 wickets it was the cool head of Chris Elliott (18no) who guided Melton to a 3 wicket victory.
