ECB Level 2 Coach (Subject to Final Assessment); Right-hand batsman; Right-arm fast-medium seam bowler

Having moved to England from the United Arab Emirates in 2016, Aslam contacted us and subsequently attended pre-season nets, impressing everyone with the pacy bowling and aggressive batting. In his first season he fell foul of the Norfolk Alliance rules on overseas players which forbid him from playing outside the Premier Division but, luckily for us and unluckily for our Norfolk League and the Mid Norfolk Sunday League opponents, no such rules existed and Aslam ran amok. His 473 runs & 27 wickets comfortably made him B Team Player of the Year and he added the Sunday Player of the Year Trophy as well as playing a major role in the Midweek Teams’ success in reaching 2 finals.  The following season Aslam took 17 wicket’s as the Firsts were promoted to Division 2 of the NCA but, in 2018, he briefly left to play for St.Andrews before returning mid-season where, rules meant he again had to play B Team cricket as the 1st Team came back down.  Last season Aslam was again a major reason for the 1st Team’s swift return to Division 2, topping the bowling averages with 30 wickets at 14.5.  While his batting opportunities have been more limited at First Team level, Aslam can certainly wield the willow and already has a century to his name.  He has also been prepared to get involved off the pitch, helping with Junior Coaching and taking on the Sunday captaincy in 2019.
