Great Melton U11s beat Hethersett & Tas Valley U11s by 7 runs at Melton Park in the Terry Moore Trophy

The Under 11s made it 5 wins out of 5 in the Terry Moore Trophy with a narrow victory over Hethersett & Tas Valley.  Melton bowled only 4 wides and one no ball to restrict Hethersett to 248-3, a net score of 233.  Jonathan Cooper top-scored for the visitors with 7 and there was a wicket apiece for Arvind Shanmugam (3-0-8-1) and Luke Marchant (3-0-8-1) but Craig Wilson (2-1-1-0), Tom Moye (2-0-11-0), Connor Jermyn (1-0-4-0), Fergus Hughes (3-0-9-0) and Jack Broad (2-0-4-0) all bowled well.  The result was still in doubt as Melton’s last pair, Hughes and Jermyn, went to the wicket as Melton recovered from losing 3 wickets thanks to a good not out partnership of 15 between Marchant (7) and Shanmugam (2).  Hughes (13 not out) then hit two fours, one off the last ball,  to take Melton to a final total of 255-3 (240 net)
